Flexible payment solutions: New West Technologies’ story

When we got into payments, it was quite a bit simpler—much less complicated back when it was just a swipe. We wrote our first payment integration in 2003 on the Windows Pocket PC platform. It did real-time authorization and we had signature on the handheld.

So we’ve been at it a long time—and it was very complicated for a lot of folks. As we delivered solutions, we found that a lot of the processors and integrations had issues that we couldn’t control and solve the problems for our customers. That’s how we got into it—because we wanted to be the trusted advisor, but more importantly, the problem solver.

So when there was a problem and there were other payment platforms, we had to rely on them—and sometimes they were slow, or didn’t care, or didn’t understand the need. So that’s how we got into it—so as we provide a full solution—it’s a part of it, but it was something we could control.

So when a customer called, asks a question, needs a feature, or has a problem, then we can solve it. Working with companies like Worldpay allowed us to do that because the platform is very flexible and it’s pretty dynamic, and the people we’ve worked with over the years have been fantastic.

When we approach them with a new idea or a problem, they are like “boom” they come to us with answers and solutions. The people are fantastic, and we can execute faster, and that helps us get more clients quicker. We enable our customers, with the help of platforms like Worldpay, to enable their payments to be whatever they want—and more importantly, whatever their customers want.
